Independent Verification
A member of our fact-checking team independently verifies the article without seeing the author's sources. This ensures no bias and catches errors the author may have missed. They verify ingredient names, chemical structures, biological pathways, study findings, and expert credentials. Discrepancies are flagged for resolution.
Expert Review
Articles undergo review by a relevant expert — a dermatologist, cosmetic chemist, or skincare researcher — who checks scientific accuracy and ensures claims are proportionate to available evidence. Experts may suggest clarifications, additional context, or note where emerging research differs from consensus. Their feedback is incorporated before publication.
Editorial Sign-Off & Publication
The Editor-in-Chief reviews the article one final time, ensuring all feedback has been addressed and standards are met. Only then is the article published with full citations and source documentation. Publication metadata includes author, reviewer, and publication date for full transparency.
Corrections & Updates Policy
How We Handle Errors
We strive for accuracy, but errors can occur. If you spot an inaccuracy — whether factual, scientific, or citation-related — we encourage you to report it. Please email us with details about the error, the article title, and your source.
Upon receiving a correction request, our fact-check team investigates within 48 hours. If the error is confirmed, we publish a correction notice and update the article. The original error remains visible in the update note to maintain transparency about what changed and why.
Article Updates & Version Control
When new research becomes available, we update articles to reflect current scientific understanding. Significant updates — changes to benefit claims, ingredient recommendations, or safety information — are marked with an "Updated on [date]" note at the top of the article.

- Professional Experience: Demonstrated work experience in skincare, dermatology, cosmetic science, or medical writing. Typically 3+ years in the field.
- Published Work: Evidence of prior scientific or medical writing, whether in academic journals, professional publications, or established health/wellness platforms.
- Professional Integrity: Authors sign an agreement affirming they will follow our editorial standards and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Author Bylines & Bios
Every article includes an author byline with a brief professional bio. This allows readers to assess the author's qualifications and expertise. Bios include relevant degrees, certifications, years of experience, and professional affiliations. For expert-contributed pieces, we provide the expert's credentials and title.
Conflict of Interest Policy
All authors and contributors disclose any financial relationships, employment, or personal interests that could influence their writing. This includes stock ownership in skincare companies, consulting relationships, research funding, or family connections to cosmetic brands. Such disclosures are noted in the article or footer, allowing readers to assess potential bias.
